Owen Sebel has been a musician since he was 4 years old. He had no choice, being born into a very musical family! His music education began on drums, studying with Scotty Bryan, and eventually performing at Eddie’s Attic, the Red Light Cafe, and numerous outdoor Atlanta festivals with different bands. In 3rd grade, he added cello, and by 8th grade rose to principal of the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 2026, he earned a spot in the GMEA All-State Orchestra, a competitive group of the best school-aged musicians in the state of Georgia. He has performed on stage at Symphony Hall in front of an audience of thousands. Cello mentors include Benjamin Shirley, Kendall Murray, Mary Horst, Jean Gay, and currently Katie Truex.
Owen loves teaching and inspiring kids with patience and clear communication. He is currently a freshman at Pace Academy. In his free time, he loves to mountain bike, play basketball and lacrosse, and do death-defying flips on his trampoline!
